Susan Gledhill | Principal

Susan Herrmann Gledhill is the Chief Executive Officer of Policy Navigation Group. Ms. Gledhill has extensive experience in consulting, industry, and government. She served in the Executive Office of the President’s Interagency Environmental Technologies Office (IETO). In that position, she worked with the President’s Council for Sustainable Development, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as thirteen major Federal agencies covering a wide variety of information technology, technical, financial and service topics. She served as one of the Chairs of the first National Town Meeting on a Sustainable America, co-sponsored with the President’s Council on Sustainable Development. In addition to Policy Navigation Group, Ms. Gledhill created the SunDogs energy efficiency curriculum, an interactive environmental education curriculum that helps youth create and present tailored environmental management systems with practical advice, tools and technologies.

As both an engineer and economist, Ms. Gledhill possesses an extensive background in designing and implementing both private and public sector environmental management strategies, including: benefit-cost analysis and life-cycle assessments, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 environmental management systems, life-cycle assessments, and strategic environmental communication plans. At the Center for Energy and Climate Solutions at the not-for-profit Global Environmental & Technology Foundation, Ms. Gledhill co-authored the groundbreaking paper, The Internet Economy and Global Warming, one of the first analyses exploring the economic and environmental impact of the growing Internet economy on current and future trends in energy consumption.

Ms. Gledhill holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University in Sweden where she was valedictorian. Ms. Gledhill graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S.E. in Civil Environmental Engineering and a joint B.A. degree in International Studies and Spanish.

Ms. Gledhill enjoys parenting three wonderful children, alongside her husband, Jonathan Gledhill and exploring the world together.
